When hanging drapes that use drapery hooks, it is essential to place the drapery hooks in the back layer of fabric. You do not want to extend the hooks too far into the front. The hooks should be mounted at the same height as the back layer. You can use pleater tape to attach the hooks, or you can screw them into the wall. The hooks should be placed so that the top end of the curtain does not show.
Curtains that use drapery hooks should be lined up with the back side of the curtain. When hanging a curtain with these hooks, make sure the fabric is flat on the table. Also, make sure the bottom edge is hemmed. Putting hooks in the back will add stability to the curtain. When hanging a back tab curtain, make sure that the tab is straight and the pins are attached directly to the fabric. Once you’ve pinned the panels, you can move them up or down one inch to change the natural length of the fabric.
To hang drapes, you should put the hooks at the base of the hemmed piece. Make sure they do not protrude through the front of the curtain panel. You can place them on either end of the drape, one third from each end. You can also place them in the tabs of the traverse rod. When hanging curtains using these hooks, you should always remember to install the drapery hooks in the front of the panel.
